Announcements

  • Prayer for Harvey Victims

Loving Lord, we come to you trusting in your mercy and knowing that your steadfast love endures forever. Look with mercy on those who have been harmed or displaced by this disaster. Grant them your strength to meet the days ahead. Allow those who are affected to experience your peace which passes all understanding and new hope in the resurrection. Move in those who are able to give aid, that we may be your hands and heart on the earth. Be with all who offer your assistance; may your Spirit uphold them.  Give us the assurance of your presence even in this time so that we can cling to your promise of hope and life shown to us through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, Amen.

  • Opportunity: Men's Devotional Meeting

Our men's prayer breakfast has moved to Thursdays, 7 a.m., at Dinos Diner. Come join us for devotions and discussion.  Contact Ken Jensen or Pastor Don Hoffman for more information.

  • Festival of Sharing is an Opportunity too Good to Miss!

CUMC is gearing up for a Mission Week devoted primarily to our statewide, interdenominational Festival of Sharing.  We plan to donate 20 each of 3 kits, tie 30 fleece blankets for the Backpacks of Love, stitch 20 or more bags for Church World Service School Kits, and to collect eyeglasses, blankets, and shoes.  Pick up kit content reminders from the black board in the Sanctuary. The Cameron Food Pantry has several tasks for us to do and let's re-stain our crosses!  Watch The Way, weekly bulletins, and the Cameron paper for more information.

  • Operation Christmas Child - Sept Items

Small (no more than 3" tall) stuffed animals.

To reach our goal of 100 boxes, there are still a number of items needed. They are all listed on a sheet you can find on the information desk in the Narthex. The list is also posted on the black board.

  • Opportunity: Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are trained to offer a ministry of presence to anyone who would like a loving, Christian companion through life's ups and downs.  We are an extension of Jesus' invitation to "come to him" and let him carry you awhile.  Call a leader, listed in the newsletter, and talk with them.  You will be glad you did.
